What Is Chimney Cake?
Chimney Cake also known as Kurtos Kalacs, Chimney Cone, Trdelnik, Makara, Baumstriezel, Kürtőskalács is a traditional pastry from Eastern Europe. The name comes from the shape of the ready freshly baked cake, which looks like a Smokey Chimney. It has a caramelized, sugary, golden-brown crispy crust and a soft tasty core. The contrast between the soft and crunchy, the fact that you have to unwind the chimney to eat it , all the different toppings you can use - think cinnamon, nuts or chocolate, makes these cakes simply irresistible.
Our Story
My name is Stella. Me and my husband Ivo were inspired to get deeply involved with the Chimney Cakes business after we visited Dracula's Castle, Transylvania in 2011. Those attractive, tasty, unusual and heavenly aromatic pastries got our attention. But the real relation was made when we tasted them - a love from the first bite! That was enough for us to become Chimney Cakes addicted :) And a real problem blown our minds - how we will continue enjoying Chimney Cakes when we go back home? How we will explain them to our family? How to bring same joy to them too? And the solution came immediately. We had to make Chimney Cakes popular as fast and far away as possible.
We turned this passion into a good and successful working business model. We started manufacturing the specialised baking equipment - ovens, grills, rollers and other related products.
We developed the Chimney Cakes mix - a revolution in Kurtoskalacs making for vendors from all over the world.
Even now we continue to love this amazing pastry with the same passion as in the beginning and we are happy to support and advice everyone who is about to begin the exciting adventure of developing his own Chimney Cake business.

Kurtos Frozen Dough
In early 2012 we expanded our Kurtos business to the next level - we created a production line for frozen Kurtos dough balls in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. We invested in the latest equipment for dough-kneading, dough-shaping and shock-freezing. The final result is a high-quality product - frozen dough, which is preferred by Bulgarian Chimney Cake bakers.
